Via Ferrata Tour d'Aï

K3fairly difficult
Above Leysin, the Tour d’Aï via ferrata is a striking alpine outing with a distinctly airy feel. It is rated K3 and is best suited to sure-footed climbers in good shape who are comfortable with exposure. The line climbs the west face from Chaux-de-Mont, reached via La Berneuse or the village of Aï, then follows cables and metal steps through sustained, open sections. Expect big views rather than technical variety: the panorama stretches across the Vaud Alps, Lake Geneva and, in clear weather, toward Mont-Blanc and the Jura. The route finishes on the summit at 2,331 metres, followed by a descent on foot to Aï. Full via ferrata equipment is essential.
