Via Ferrata Aletsch
OpenK3moderately difficult

The Via Ferrata Aletsch makes a round of the Gibidum reservoir in the upper Massaschlucht, linking airy passages above the water with a landscape shaped by the Aletsch Glacier. It is a medium-difficulty route, but it still includes a few demanding sections, so it feels more serious than a simple family outing. A Nepal bridge adds an extra dose of exposure, and parts of the route can run close to icy glacial water when the lake is full.
The climb is a circuit: the entry is signposted at the west end of the dam, then the route drops to the shore and follows the lake on ladders, stemples, log bridges and natural footholds. The return on the eastern bank is somewhat more demanding, before you climb back to the dam and cross it to the start.
