Urnerboden

Zingelstöckli

Open
K4-K5difficult - very difficult
Zingelstöckli is a demanding via ferrata on the Urnerboden, the largest alpine meadow in Switzerland. It is best suited to experienced climbers who are comfortable with sustained steep terrain and want a route that feels distinctly alpine rather than introductory. The reward comes after the effort: broad views open up over the surrounding mountains and valleys, making the ascent feel as memorable as the summit moment itself. The route is open from 1 May to 31 October, which makes it a good summer and autumn objective when conditions are more likely to be stable. Plan for a solid outing and take the exposed character seriously, especially if the rock is wet or the weather is uncertain.
