La Traversata, Furggen

Open
K2-K3moderate - fairly difficult
La Traversata is an adventurous high-mountain route for experienced ski tourers and freeride-minded skiers. It begins at Furggsattel and first leads to the start of the winter via ferrata. From there, you continue on foot with skis carried on your back until reaching the historic Furggen station at 3,500 m, then finish with a long descent toward Breuil-Cervinia in Italy. The line sits on the Swiss-Italian border, with the south face of the Matterhorn as a constant backdrop. A mountain guide is recommended, and the route calls for sure footing, no fear of heights, and very solid ski skills.
