Via Ferrata Schweifinen - Route A
OpenK2moderately easy

A short, beginner-friendly via ferrata high above Zermatt, Route A offers an easy first taste of the Schweifinen rock bands. The path trends diagonally through rocky, partly earthy terrain and includes a pleasantly exposed passage above the Triftbach. It is suitable for families with children from about 10 years, provided everyone is comfortable with heights and secure footing.
The approach is straightforward and the route can be done on its own without combining it with the harder sections. Expect a compact outing rather than a long alpine undertaking, with good views over Zermatt’s roofs and lanes and a few atmospheric traces of old mountain use along the way.
