Via Ferrata Schweifinen - Route B

Route B is the demanding middle section of the Schweifinen via ferrata above Zermatt. It climbs steep, partly overhanging rock and then continues with a very exposed traverse, adding some playful variety with metal ladders and even slightly swaying wooden logs. The route is shorter than it feels, but it asks for a sure head, solid technique and enough strength to stay relaxed in the steep sections. From the wall you get constant views down over the roofs and lanes of Zermatt and out toward the surrounding high Alpine scenery. The approach and return are straightforward from the village.
