The Cascade du Dar via ferrata is a serious sport route at the foot of Glacier 3000, close to the Dar waterfall and with wide views over the Ormonts valley. It is short on paper, but demanding in the body: steep sections, some exposed traverses, and a route that asks for sure-footedness, strength, and a calm head. The start is the hardest part, with the option to bypass it if needed. Later, the line eases a little, but it still stays athletic and airy. Plan for a summer outing and good footwear, especially because the rock can be damp and slippery in places. The descent can be made back toward Col du Pillon or, for a more rewarding finish, along the Dar toward Les Diablerets.
