<strong>Via Ferrata San Salvatore</strong> climbs the north-west face of Monte San Salvatore above Lugano in a short but demanding line. The route is athletic rather than purely scenic: a thick steel cable, a limited number of iron steps, and sections that are steep to slightly overhanging call for good strength and calm movement. The climb is usually completed in well under two hours including the approach, and the top rewards you with wide views over Lake Lugano and the surrounding peaks. Avoid the route when the rock is wet or storms are possible.
