Fürenwand is a demanding, athletic via ferrata with long stretches of very airy climbing and little actual rock contact. The route is heavily equipped, but that does not make it easy: the exposure is constant, and the long rope ladder near the top is a real psychological test. A good level of fitness and sure-footedness is useful, especially on the second part, which feels a bit harder. The route faces southwest, so the wall is often shaded in the morning. In late autumn, icy spots can appear, and there is no emergency exit.
