Central Switzerland

Between Lake Lucerne and the Gotthard lie some of the most varied via ferratas in Switzerland. Engelberg alone offers eight routes, from the short Brunnistöckli to the Rigidalstock. In the canton of Uri, routes lead through the Schöllenen gorge, around Göschenen and across the Salbit bridge high above the Göschenen valley. Smaller routes on the Klewenalp, in Melchsee-Frutt, Lungern and the Muotathal complete the picture. The map shows all 24 via ferratas of the region, and below they are grouped by place.
