Obere Bielenlücke - Galenstock

The Obere Bielenlücke is a high alpine passage on the Furka side of the Galenstock, reached by a south-side via ferrata that has given the route new importance as an access line to the mountain’s southeast ridge. Expect a serious mountain outing rather than a casual climbing park: the setting is high, exposed and weather-sensitive, and the route is typically used in combination with the Galenstock ascent. Because it lies at the foot of the ridge, conditions and snow can matter; good timing and solid alpine judgement are important.
