"Freude herrscht" Variant

The ‘Freude herrscht’ variant on the Kandersteg–Allmenalp via ferrata is a short, demanding add-on for experienced climbers who are comfortable on steep, exposed ground. It is rated K4+ and climbs roughly 150 metres of vertical gain in 30 to 45 minutes, with iron steps, ladders and a bridge packed into a compact section. The route sits on the same dramatic Allmenalp backdrop as the main ferrata, so you can still expect plenty of exposure and big mountain atmosphere. Good gear, sure footwork and a calm head are essential.
