Nax

Via Ferrata Belvédère

The Via Ferrata Belvédère above Nax is a varied route with fine views over the Rhône valley and the surrounding mountain walls. It is considered one of the more accessible ferratas in Valais, but it is still exposed in places and can feel quite vertical after the opening section. The line climbs from the forest below Nax toward the village, with a couple of rope bridges and a few more athletic passages along the way. Allow enough time for the approach and for the walk back after the route. The setting is a big part of the experience: vineyards, the slopes above Sion, and a broad alpine panorama accompany the climb. The route is a good choice when you want a shorter outing with plenty of scenery, but it still deserves standard ferrata equipment and sure-footedness.
